Your Guide To Professional Baseball on AirTV (OTA) and Sling (OTT)

Spring is the air and it’s the AirTV Blog Team’s favorite time of year! It also means baseball season is finally here! Can’t make it to the ballpark for opening day or key games? See below for our helpful tips on how to catch some of your favorite MLB team’s games on AirTV and Sling.

AirTV Options:

Fox

Fox carries many baseball games on Saturday afternoons and evenings. Visit here for a schedule of those nationally televised games.

Lucky Cities List (Free Local TV)

  • New York – New York City AirTV customers can access dozens of Yankees and Met games completely free on WPIX in New York. For a schedule of Yankees games on WPIX, go here.  For Mets games on WPIX, go here.
  • Los Angeles – KTLA will carry at least 10 Dodgers games this year, and in the past has added more games to the slate during the season.
  • Chicago – WGN plans on showing 49 Chicago Cubs Baseball games. Visit here for a PDF schedule available for download. WGN will also air 55 White Sox games this season, with a schedule available here.

Sling options:

Major League Baseball will have a series of national broadcasts that can be found here and are sortable by team. The Sling Orange & Blue bundle is perfect for accessing all the games appearing on ESPN, ESPN2, TBS, and FS1. You can add the MLB network at only $5 per month for even more coverage.

Most national broadcasts appear on ESPN, so the Sling Orange package, currently on promotion at $15 per month for 3 months, can meet your craving!

    1. UPDATE: We just made a resolution for this issue. when logging back into the Sling app you will be prompted to rescan for channels. Once you rescan your local channels should be back on your channel list.

      Hello Joe – We have become aware that some customers are missing local channels received through the Sling app on their AirTV Players . Here’s how you can resolve this issue:

      1.) Hit the Diamond button on your AirTV Player remote to return to the main menu. Find and select the Play Store icon and sign in to your Play Store account
      – If you need to create a Play Store account, CLICK HERE: https://accounts.google.com/

      2.) Within the Play Store, under the Update ribbon, find and select the Sling TV app. Select Update
      – While in the Play Store, you can also opt to have apps update automatically. Select this option, if you’d like

      3.) Launch the Sling TV app. From the My TV screen, scroll to the very bottom, then select Sling TV Settings

      4.) Under Over the Air Channels, select Setup to re-scan for channels
